Description

The Woolpack is a public house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of painted, coursed rubble stone with a thatched roof. The roof has a coped left gable, and stone to the left end, with brick ridge and right end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window front. An almost central, gabled porch, featuring a board door, was added in the 19th century. The windows are small-paned casements with wooden lintels. A low addition exists to the right front. The interior includes a very large inglenook fireplace with stone cheeks in the left-hand room, and a smaller inglenook in the right-hand room. The group value of the building is that it represents a well-preserved example of a 17th-century public house.
