Description
Davids Village Shop and Iona Cottage are a row of three houses, originally numbered 50, 51, 52, and 53, located in Barnwell, St. Andrew. These buildings date from the mid-18th century and the 20th century. They are constructed from regularly coursed limestone and feature thatched roofs. The original layout was likely two units. The buildings stand two storeys tall and form a six-window range, with 19th and 20th-century casements, mostly set under wooden lintels. There are three plank doors situated between the windows, also beneath wooden lintels. Brick and stone stacks are located at the ridge, and No. 50 slightly projects forward. An attached thatched outbuilding on the left now forms part of No. 50, while there is a 20th-century one-bay extension at the far right. The interiors include ceiling beams and remnants of open fireplaces.
