Description
The well head and attached trough, located approximately 50 meters east of Number 7, was built in the late 19th century for Lord Lilford. The trough and plinth are made of ashlar, while the well head features a wooden structure with a plain-tile roof. The well head is adorned with Gothic tracery and two angels. It has a hipped roof that creates a hood over the well head, topped with a wooden cross at the ridge. An inscription under the eaves reads: "In Memory of Thomas Atherton Powys MDCCCLXXXII." The well has wooden covers and includes a cast-iron well and lead spout at the rear. This structure was erected by the fourth Baron Lilford in memory of his son.
