Description

The Basse family chest tomb, located approximately 30 metres northeast of the Church of All Saints, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and features a deep cornice on the plinth and a twin gabled lid. The tomb has recessed panels that are inscribed in memory of Richard Basse, who died in 1675, on the north side, and Denis Basse, who died in 1676, on the south side. The inscribed shield on the west end is no longer legible.
