Description
This is a house located at 89 High Street, dating from the mid-18th century to the 19th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone, with the eaves raised in ashlar, and features a 20th-century plain tile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The main front has a three-window range, which includes two 18th-century and 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars on the far left, and 19th-century casements to the right. The first-floor windows are topped with 19th-century stone lintels, while the ground-floor windows have late 18th-century scored stone lintels with keyblocks. To the left of centre, there is a 19th-century vertical six-panel door that is sheltered by a 19th-century wooden porch. The house features ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, as well as ashlar stacks with moulded cornices at both ends. The side and rear elevations are similar, with some casement windows under wooden lintels, along with scored stone lintels and keyblocks. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace, a 19th-century staircase, and some original roof timbers.
