Description
41 and 41A West Street is a 17th-century, two-storey house featuring a steep stone slate roof. At the east end, there is a carriageway that extends through both storeys. The front of No. 41 is constructed of coursed rubble and includes one sash window with glazing bars on each floor, along with a low right-hand doorway that has an old panelled door and a wooden lintel. No. 41A is built of ashlar and has one sash window on the first floor, as well as the remains of an old bow window on the ground floor that has been converted for use as a shop. It also features a modern door and a plinth. Nos 15 to 19 (odd), 25, and 33 to 53 (odd) form a group with the Church of St Wilfred, Paine's Almshouses, and Oundle Congregational Church.
