Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the mid 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a slate roof. The building has a T-shape plan and consists of two and three storeys. The main front has a four-window range, with a gabled cross wing that projects forward to the left. The unhorned sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set beneath rusticated ashlar heads. To the right, there is a three-window range that is three storeys high, featuring sash and casement windows on the second floor, which are set in false dormers with gables. There is also a one-window range lean-to at the intersection of the cross wing. The gable parapets are made of ashlar and have ironstone kneelers, with brick and stone stacks located at the ridge, eaves, and ends. Attached to the right is a mid-19th century two-storey one-window range with casement windows. The garden front to the left of the cross wing consists of a two-storey, three-window range with similar sash windows as the main front. There is a central 19th-century part-glazed door, also under a rusticated ashlar head. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to have ceiling beams.
