Description
Laxton Grammar School, located at the south-east end of Church Street, is a mid-19th century building featuring two storeys at the ends and one storey in the centre, constructed in ashlar. The two-storey end gables each have one window with three lancet lights, which include shield terminals and rectangular drip moulds above a window with five lights, where the drip mould continues as a string course. The central section, which is one storey, has a parapet and cornice. Above the arched doorway, there is a gabled section that displays the school coat of arms and features stopped chamfers on the moulded reveals. This building is included for its group value with The Cloisters on New Street.
