Description
Dovecote House is a farmhouse that likely originated in the 17th century, with the main block dated "DM MDCCXCII" (1792). It features squared coursed limestone and limestone rubble, with ashlar dressings and roofs made of Collyweston stone slate. The main block is two storeys high with an attic and has a two-window range, characterized by coped gables and twin moulded stone end stacks. The windows are three-light small-paned casements with gauged stone heads and keystones, although the left-hand ground floor window has been replaced with French doors. There are also two hipped two-light dormers. A central square datestone with a cornice is present. The lower wing to the right is one storey high with an attic, featuring a brick ridge stack and an end stack on a stone base, along with casement windows and two hipped three-light dormers. The gable end has a datestone similar to that of the main block. A 20th-century lean-to porch is attached to the side. The interior has not been inspected.
