Description
This barn, dating from the mid-18th century, is attached to the south of the Bell Inn public house and abuts Bell Hill. It is constructed of regularly coursed ironstone and features a pantile roof. Originally, it likely served as a barn and adjacent stable with a hayloft above. The elevation facing the road includes a 19th-century cart entrance on the far right, which is set under a wooden lintel. The gable parapets are made of brick and ashlar, and the right gable wall has a moulded stone plinth. The rear of the barn has 20th-century openings at ground level and two hayloft doors on the first floor. Some elements of the 18th-century roof structure remain intact. This barn is included for its group value with the Bell Inn.
