Description

Wilby Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and ironstone, topped with a concrete tile roof. The building has a T-shape plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The main front features a two-window range of leaded casements set beneath wooden lintels. A mid-19th century brick porch with a pointed arch opening leads to a 19th century panelled door that has glazed top lights. There are brick stacks at both ends of the house. The gables on the left and rear elevations also have leaded casements. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to have ceiling beams and remnants of an open fireplace.
