Description
These barns, located immediately south of the Tithe Barn, were likely built in the early 18th century and originally served as stables. They are constructed from regularly coursed banded limestone and ironstone, topped with a corrugated metal roof. The structure is two storeys high and was probably designed as a five-unit range of stables with haylofts above.
On the first floor, there is a three-window range featuring two-light casements, with three hayloft plank doors situated between them, all of which are set under wooden lintels. The ground floor has one plank door on the far left, while the other openings are from the 20th century. A single-storey extension from the 20th century connects the barns to the Tithe Barn. Inside, the barns retain two 18th-century roof trusses. These buildings are included for their group value.
