Description
The boundary walls to the field adjoining the west of the Prebendal Manor House are likely medieval rabbit warren enclosure walls. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with clay mortar and cement capping. The walls stand approximately 1.5 to 2 metres tall and are between 60cm and 90cm thick. The enclosure has a roughly rectilinear shape, with an indented northeast corner that has been partly rebuilt. The south end of the east side incorporates the west wall of a barn located about 30 metres southwest of number 57 Prebendal Manor House. There is a gateway on the north side leading to Woodnewton Road, and the enclosure covers an area of about 0.8 hectares.
