Description
This is a group of three chest tombs located approximately 2 meters east of the chancel of the Church of St. Rumbald. The tombs date from 1684 and the early to mid-19th century. They are made of limestone ashlar. The westernmost chest tomb features a chamfered slab and is dated 1684. The other two tombs are from the 19th century and have bolection moulded pilasters and oval inscription panels. These tombs are enclosed by mid-19th century cast-iron railings. The inscriptions on the tombs, which are partially legible, commemorate the Southwell, Smith, and Tibbetts families.
