Description

This is a late 18th and early 19th century farmhouse, now a house. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone, with a facade that has been rendered, and has a slate roof. Originally built with a two-unit plan, it now has a three-window front, with a central blind window. The central entrance features a six-panelled door within a wooden columned porch complete with an entablature and cornice. The ground floor has tripartite sash windows with painted wooden surrounds and keyblocks; the first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, also under similar surrounds. A raised string course runs between the floors. The building has ashlar gable parapets and brick stacks at each end. Inside, you'll find spine beams with run-out stops, panelled window reveals, and an early 19th century staircase with a stick balustrade. A single-unit, two-storey brick extension is attached to the right-hand side. The property was formerly known as Mannings Farm.
