Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory, with a datestone indicating it was constructed in 1870. The building features squared coursed limestone with ironstone and ashlar dressings, and it has plain tile roofs. It is designed with a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys.
The main front has a three-window range, with a large gable that projects forward to the right and a smaller gable to the left. There is a central gabled porch that has a gothic outer arch and a 19th-century part-glazed inner door framed by a moulded stone surround. The windows include two- and three-light stone mullions with plain sashes, as well as a single-light central window, all featuring Caernavon heads. On the first floor to the right, there is a three-light stone oriel window, and small quatrefoils are present in the gables. The building has ashlar stacks at the ridge.
The garden front to the right includes a canted stone bay on the ground floor to the left and a large central staircase window. A datestone is also located in the gable. The rear elevation to the right of the garden front is similar in design. The interior has not been inspected.
