Description

This is a barn attached to the northeast corner of Bigstrup Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It is timber framed and weatherboarded, standing on a rubblestone plinth. The north pitch of the roof is thatched, while the south pitch is covered with corrugated iron sheeting. The barn is set at right angles to the farmhouse, creating a letter-L plan, and consists of five bays with a central cart entry. It features queen strut trusses. The barn is connected to the farmhouse by a single-storey outbuilding that is also weatherboarded and has an old tile roof.
