Description

This is a 17th-century cottage, situated in Dinton-with-Ford and Gibraltar Upton. The exterior is primarily wichter construction, with colourwashing and rendering over a rubble plinth. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The cottage has two bays and a first floor with dormers. A gabled porch fronts the right side, with a door positioned within. A two-light leaded casement window is also present in the right-hand bay. A modern lean-to extension has been added to the front of the left bay, including a door. Two dormers with swept eaves are visible. A central stack serves the property, with a staircase window tucked under the eaves to one side, featuring an ovolo mullion and a chamfered frame of 17th-century leaded lights. A two-light casement window is located at the rear. The roof is half-hipped, and the right gable includes a lean-to witchert outbuilding, with the gable of the main house above being tile hung. Inside, the right-hand room contains an inglenook fireplace. The interior also reveals chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
