Description

Gibraltar Cottage is an early 18th-century house, originally two cottages. The exterior is constructed of wattle and daub on a rubble plinth, and has been colourwashed and rendered. The roof is thatched, with half-hipped gables. The building has four bays over two storeys. A modern thatched porch hides the entrance door, located in the right-hand bay. The other three bays have two-light casement windows. There are eaves dormers to the two left bays, and a two-light casement window under the eaves in the third bay. A flat-roofed single-storey rear addition extends across two bays. Chimneys are located in the left gable and the centre of the building. Inside, the ground floor fireplace in the left-hand bay features a cambered, chamfered, and stopped lintel with stone jambs, along with chamfered and stopped spine beams.
