Description
The Thatched Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century, with an extension from the 18th century. The original structure consists of two bays of 17th-century timber framing with colourwashed brick infill. The bay facing the road, which is from the early 18th century, is built of rubblestone and features a timber-framed gable with plastered infill. The cottage has a thatched roof that is half hipped towards the road. The 17th-century bays are two storeys high, while the 18th-century bay is a single storey with an attic.
The northwest front elevation includes a boarded door on the right and two- and three-light casement windows. There are flanking stacks on either side. The 18th-century bay has a single-light casement window at the front and two-light leaded casements in the gable. At the southeast side at the rear, there is a modern two-storey addition made of painted brick with a plain tile roof.
