Description
The Old Post is a house dated 1687, constructed from rubblestone with some brick quoins. The left bay is timber-framed with brick infill and features an old tile roof. The building has four bays and two storeys. The timber-framed left bay includes a four-light casement on the ground floor and a three-light casement on the first floor. There is a glazed door in the left stone bay, which is topped by a flat hood supported on cut brackets, with a single light casement above it. The right bays have three-light casements. The eaves are dentilated, and there is a stack located between the right bays. A small addition with a tile roof is present on the right gable, which has a blocked first-floor window and a small two-light attic window. Above the entrance, there is a defaced date plaque that was formerly inscribed with 'I.R. 1687'. Inside, the property features chamfered and stopped spine beams.
