Description
The Pitchings is a house that dates from the medieval period and the 17th century. It features a timber frame with colourwashed plastered infilling, while the west elevation is rendered. The roof is thatched and has a half-hipped design. The house consists of three bays and one and a half storeys. There are two board doors, one located to the right of the centre bay and another off-centre in the right bay. The left bay contains a two-light off-centre casement window. In the centre bay, there is a flat-roofed canted bay window to the left, and a small staircase window is positioned to the left in the right bay. The house has three eaves dormers, each with leaded casements. There are chimney stacks located at the left in the right-hand bay and at the left gable. Inside, there are four cruck trusses, and the ground floor room features a richly moulded spine beam, while the other beams are chamfered and stopped.
