Description
The Seven Stars is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, constructed from coursed rubblestone and topped with an old tile roof. It features a single-storey brick and rubblestone wing on the east side. The main structure has four bays and two storeys with an attic. The three bays on the right are from the 17th century and include a central six-panel door set beneath a shell hood supported by brackets, with cross casements in the outer bays and above the door. The left bay is from the 18th century and has brick dressings around the cross casements. All windows are leaded. There is a modern four-light flat-roofed dormer in the second bay of the attic. Chimneys are located between the left-hand and right-hand bays. The right gable features leaded windows, with mullioned and transomed windows on the ground and first floors—two-light on the ground floor and three-light on the first. Each gable has two-light attic casements. The rear elevation mirrors the front, with staircase windows in the bay opposite the front door. Inside, there is a moulded batten door leading to the cellar, and the attic stair has a spearhead newel post.
