Description

Swan House is a house that was formerly an inn, dating from the 17th century and refaced with brick in the early 19th century. It is constructed of witchert that is cased in brick and has an old tile roof. The building features two wide bays and stands two storeys tall. There is a central door in front of a stack, which forms a lobby-entry plan type. The windows on the ground floor are six-pane wide sashes with cambered arches, while the first floor has four-pane sashes in the outer bays. The centre bay has a four-pane box sash that dates from around 1980. At the rear, there are outshots. The west gable includes a two-light casement window on the first floor and attic. Inside, the house has inglenook fireplaces and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
