Description

The Chestnuts is a house dating to the 17th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of rubblestone with brick dressings, and has a colourwashed rendered block at the rear. The roofs are covered with old tiles. The front gable faces the road, and has two two-light casements on each floor, positioned irregularly. These windows are set within brick segmental arches, and there is a band course running along the facade. The gable is topped with a brick coping. A stack is located on the right side of the north elevation, which also has two-light casements. The rendered block has more recent casements. The front garden is enclosed by cast iron spearhead railings.
