Description

This is a house, dated 1660, with a later addition. A stone shield plaque bearing the initials "J.E.A." is set into the gable of the left bay. The house is constructed of thin brick, with the left bay featuring English brick bonding, a moulded stone plinth, and stone quoins. The right bay and central lobby entry exhibit more irregular brick bonding and lack stone dressings. The roof is of old tile, and the central chimney is of thin brick with two sunk panels on each side. The house is two storeys and has an attic, with two bays. The left bay has a two-storey canted bay window with a gable above. It features five-light stone mullion windows with moulded stone cornices and wooden casements. Similar two-light windows with Tudor hoodmoulds are found in the left gable end. The right bay incorporates three-light wooden casements with timber lintels. A small oval window on the centre of the first floor is surrounded by stone with moulded spandrels and a Tudor hoodmould. A board door sits below, protected by a wooden lintel. A contemporary outshot extends to the rear, featuring a gabled bay to the right and a 20th-century weatherboard porch. The interior of the left bay contains moulded stone fireplaces with four-centred arches; the ground floor fireplace is significantly worn.
