Description
The Chandos Arms is a public house built in the early 18th century, with an extension added in the early 19th century. The main structure features two central bays with a ground floor made of coursed rubble stone and a slight timber frame with whitewashed render infill above. It has a thatched roof with flanking brick chimneys and is 1½ storeys high. The ground floor has 20th-century paired leaded casements, while the upper floor features paired barred wooden casements beneath the thatch. There is a central 20th-century rubble stone porch with a half-hipped tile roof. The building has early and mid-19th-century extensions on either side, each consisting of one bay and two storeys, with tiled roofs and similar casements. The left extension is made of whitewashed brick, while the right has a similar upper storey but a ground floor of rubble stone. Additionally, there is a single-storey rubble stone extension on the far right.
