Description
The Baptist Church, formerly known as Amersham Baptist Chapel, is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Amersham High Street. It is constructed of light red brick, featuring dark red window arches. The hipped Welsh slate roof is topped with a 14-sided cupola that has a conical roof and is surmounted by an urn. The church is two storeys high and includes a first-floor band and a modillion brick cornice. There are five round-arched windows set in reveals, each with ground floor impost bands and mask keys. The entrance consists of three two-fold doors, each with six flush panels. An additional south wing, built in 1842 and serving as the British School, is designed in a similar style but is plainer.
