Description

Apsley House is a late 17th-century building that was refronted in the later 18th century. It is colourwashed and has a hipped roof covered in old tiles, a plain parapet, and an entablature with a dentil cornice. The corners feature quoins. The building is two storeys high, with a band marking the first floor. The central entrance features a six-panel door with four fielded panels and two flush rectangular panels, above which is a fanlight. Fluted Doric pilasters and a cornice hood are supported by brackets. Two-storey canted bays flank the entrance, each containing triple sash windows. A projecting chimney with tiled offsets is visible on the west flank wall at the rear.
