Description

Weedon Almshouses were founded in 1624 by the bequest of Thomas Weedon of Pednor. The building underwent late 19th century rebuilding of an earlier structure. It features flint rubble with red brick quoins and has four gables adorned with barge-boards. The roof is tiled and has two chimneystacks, each with four diagonally set shafts. The almshouses are one storey high with attics and include four diamond lattice casements. The ground floor has cambered arches, and there are gabled hoods over the doors, along with a central well pump that has a wooden casing. The building is noted for its historical interest.
