Description

Loudhams is a farmhouse comprising a 17th-century north wing, an 18th-century south wing, and a single-storey east wing. The north wing is timber-framed and originally clad in brick in the 18th century in a chequer pattern. It has an old tile roof and a central chimney stack with attached shafts. The north elevation features four two- and three-light casement windows on the first floor, and two ground-floor openings with wide, cambered arches. A tiled lean-to canopy covers the doorway to the right. The west gable has modern tile hanging, while the south flank has two modern three-light leaded casement windows. The 18th-century south wing is characterised by a higher roof with a stepped brick eaves cornice and a first-floor band stepped up in the centre of the west elevation. It has two sash windows on each floor, with gauged brick flat arches to the ground floor openings. The south gable contains leaded casements. The interior of the north wing retains exposed timber framing.
