Description
Neale's Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with alterations made in the mid 18th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill, including some thin brick. The left gable was rebuilt in the mid 18th century using red and vitreous brick, which includes a first-floor band course and raised brick window surrounds. The building has old tile roofs and two intermediate brick chimneys with grouped shafts and dentilled bases. It is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of four bays. The paired barred wooden casements are present, with the outer bays being gabled and projecting, each having one casement in the attic and two on each main floor. The central entrance has a panelled door surrounded by a moulded architrave and topped with a later cornice hood. Inside, there is an early 17th-century oak staircase featuring turned dumb-bell balusters, a heavy moulded handrail, and square newel posts.
