Description
The Red Lion is a public house that has undergone 19th-century alterations to an older building. The main block, located to the right, is constructed of whitewashed brick and features toothed brick eaves, a slate roof, and flanking brick chimneys. It is two storeys high with two bays. The 19th-century windows are three-light casements, with leaded glass on the ground floor to the right and the outer lights of the first-floor windows. There is a central door.
To the left, the older bay is made of a combination of rubble stone, brick, and render, all whitewashed, and it conceals remnants of a timber frame. This section has a tiled roof that is half-hipped to the left. The windows here are barred 19th-century casements, with a two-light window on the ground floor to the left and a three-light window on the first floor. There is also a small window on the ground floor to the right.
