Description
27 Rickfords Hill is an 18th-century, two-storey building that is brick, stuccoed, and painted. It features a moulded eaves cornice and an old tile roof. The first floor has six windows of various sizes, all dating from the 18th century. On the ground floor, there are three windows and a nine-panel door on the left side, which has a rectangular fanlight similar to that of No 25, but with additional inner circles and scroll ornamentation. The doorcase is adorned with fluted Ionic pilasters, an entablature with a curved frieze, and a moulded cornice hood that has a wrought iron flower guard above it. To the right, there is a secondary door that was formerly the entrance to a separate house, featuring a five-panel design and a doorcase similar to that of No 25. There is a lower, later range of service quarters to the right, which includes two dormers and three windows. The back of the house is constructed of red brick and has modern alterations.
