Description
Ashwell Court, built around 1906, is reputedly constructed from a late Medieval French timber-framed manor house imported by a Canadian millionaire. The building features four bays, with a jettied right-hand wing and a jettied left-hand wing that includes a carriageway underneath. The exterior has plastered infill and is two storeys high, showcasing decorative bracing. It has a central hipped roof, a two-storey porch, and an extruded bay between the main range and the right cross wing. The roofs are covered with old tiles, and the windows are leaded casements. The building is adorned with much carved wood and enriched stacks. Inside, there is also carved woodwork, beams, joists, and panelling.
