Description
This building is a cottage that was formerly a barn located to the northeast of Smalldean Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century. It has a timber frame and is weatherboarded on a brick and flint plinth. The exposed timber framing features brick infill on the rear wall, and it has an old tiled roof with two 20th-century brick chimneys. The front has a projecting gabled former cart entry that leads to the garden, along with 20th-century dark stained windows that have leaded glazing. To the left, there is a lower roofed wing made of flint and brick below, with weatherboarding above and an old tiled roof. This wing also has a gabled loft entry on the rear wall. The interior consists of three bays that have been subdivided to create the cottage. The building is included for its group value.
