Description
The Stable Block at Wendover House School is a 18th-century building that was originally part of the stables for the Manor House. Constructed in 1735, it is made of brick and features initials and the date in blue headers. The building has an old tiled roof with a large chimney stack to the right of the center and a smaller stack to the left. It is two stories high and has a front with nine bays, including a slightly projecting gabled center and narrow gabled projections in the second and eighth bays.
There is a central carriageway with a segmental brick arch that has been filled with modern windows. Above this arch, the date 1735 is displayed in blue bricks, along with a three-light attic casement featuring segmental arched heads. The flanking gables each display the initials DIF in blue headers. The left part of the building has irregular casements, while the right side has two bays of sash windows. Additionally, there is a small modern addition with a hipped roof at the right end.
