Description
The Halfway House Public House is an early 19th-century building that has been extended in the 20th century. It features a chequer pattern brick exterior and an old tiled roof, with flanking chimneys. The structure is two storeys high, with a central block comprising three bays. The entrance is a small modern door set in an old frame, topped with flat hoods supported by cut brackets. On either side of the entrance are canted bay windows that have barred double hung sashes and cornices. The upper sash windows include a smaller casement in the center. There are lower two-storey brick wings with hipped old tile roofs, with two bays on the right-hand side and three bays on the left, each featuring three-light casements and a central door. There are also 20th-century additions to the rear of the building.
