Description
Hammonds Hall Farmhouse is a building that likely dates from the early 17th century. It is timber-framed and was later cased in brick and some flint, possibly in the 18th or 19th century. The upper part of the front elevation features tile hanging, and the farmhouse has an old tile roof that is half hipped at the south end, with a large central brick stack. The structure has two storeys, with a door located opposite the stack and modern casement windows on either side, along with three first-floor casements. A later brick section has been added at the north end, which has a hipped roof. There is also a small rear wing that is of early date. Inside, original timbers are exposed, and there are curved windbraces in the roof. The south room features a large stack with an exposed inglenook.
