Description

Rosebank is a house dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is three storeys high with a basement, built of stucco with a flat, moulded slate roof. The front has two windows on the upper floors, with a central panel. The ground floor has two windows featuring moulded stucco architraves, a flat frieze, and a small moulded cornice supported by scrolled brackets. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with an enriched head and an arched fanlight with a circular and segmental pattern, decorated with cast lead ornament. The door is sheltered by a doorcase of engaged Ionic columns (in stucco), a broken moulded and denticulated entablature, and an open pediment. A flight of six steps leads to the entrance, sweeping out at the bottom and featuring a cast iron balustrade. Rosebank forms part of a group of listed buildings along Walton Terrace.
