Description

The farmhouse, partly incorporating a former barn, dates to the 17th century with an extension built around 1840, and later 20th-century additions to the rear. The left-hand bay is timber-framed with whitewashed brick infill, raised eaves, and a tiled roof, featuring a 19th-20th century brick chimney on the left side. It has a three-light barred wooden casement window on the ground floor and a three-light leaded casement on the upper floor, and a single leaded light window, plus a blocked door indicating a former lobby entry. The circa 1840 extension is slightly set back and constructed of flint with brick dressings, off-set eaves, and Denner Hill stone quoins. It has a tiled roof and a brick chimney. This extension displays four-pane sash windows on the upper storey and ground floor right. The ground floor left has been rebuilt in brick with a three-pane sash window, a 20th-century door, and a lean-to porch. A small 20th-century link connects the extension to an early 19th-century barn. The barn is timber-framed with weatherboard cladding and an old tile roof. It has three bays, featuring a central gabled projecting cart entry, partly blocked and with Denner Hill stone quoins to the plinth, and catslide extensions to the flanking bays. One bay of the barn is integrated into the farmhouse. Inside the 17th-century bay, there is visible timber framing, but a chimney has been removed from the right side.
