Description

House. Dating from the 17th century, it was altered and refaced in the early 19th century, with a late 19th-century wing added at the rear. The timber frame was refaced in chequer brick with moulded eaves to the front, part rendered to the right gable and first floor to the rear, and red brick to the left gable where some frame is visible above. The roof is tiled, with brick chimneys to the left and centre. The house has 1½ storeys and a basement, with two bays. The ground floor features paired sash windows with barred glass and single segmental heads. The first floor has barred wooden casements set in semi-dormers – a three-light window to the left and a two-light window to the right. The basement has a paired wooden casement in an altered surround with a segmental head to the left. The central entrance has a four-panelled door with a barred rectangular fanlight, a plain wooden frame, and a moulded cornice hood supported on scroll brackets. A single-storey 19th-century extension is attached to the left, and a small barn range is connected to the right.
