Description
Cherry Tree Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, featuring a central bay with 19th to early 20th century gabled bays projecting to the left and right. The original central bay is timber framed with repointed brick infill, while the left bay is constructed of brick and the right bay is made of flint and brick. The farmhouse has old tile roofs, with a hipped roof over the right bay. A brick chimney with 'V' pilasters is located between the right bays. The 17th century bay has one storey and an attic, with 20th century three-light leaded casements, including an upper window in a gabled eaves-line dormer. The left bay has two storeys and features paired similar casements on the first floor. The right bay includes a door set within a 20th century gabled brick and timber porch. Inside, the 17th century bay retains its original framing, with large curved braces supporting the tie-beam in the left wall, a massive chamfered spine beam with stop-chamfered joists, a winder stair aligned with the chimney, and fireplaces with timber lintels on both floors.
