Description
This is a row of six early 19th-century houses, later covered in 20th-century stucco. They comprise numbers 86 to 92 West Street, forming a nearly symmetrical composition of two storeys and six windows. A horizontal band runs across the facade at the first-floor level, separating the pilasters and parapet, which has a simple coping detail. Another band is located at the ground-floor level.
Number 86 features two sash windows and a door on the right side, with a single ground-floor bay window. Numbers 88 and 90 each have two casement windows on the first floor, along with shallow bay windows on the ground floor, and panelled doors to the right and left, respectively. Number 92 has one sash window, a door to the left, and a 19th-century bay window supported by brackets, which is currently used as a shop window. A carriage door is located on the extreme left, with a sash window above. All four houses have slate roofs.
The entrance gates to the Borlase School and number 104 West Street form a separate group.
