Description

The Close is a house dating from the 17th century that has been altered. It features a timber frame with brick infill, which is whitewashed on the front. The left bay is made of whitewashed rubble stone, while the second bay has been mostly rebuilt in whitewashed brick. The house has a half-hipped thatch roof with brick chimneys located at the center and to the right. It is one storey high with attics and consists of four bays. The windows are irregularly paired barred wooden casements, with five on the ground floor and two in the center of the attic. The left attic window has a tiled apron, and the right is in a gabled dormer with thatch swept around. There is a central 20th-century panelled door located in a 20th-century whitewashed brick and thatch porch.
