Description
Rectory Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and timber framing with brick infill to the rear, while the front predominantly features chequer brickwork with vitreous headers, a first-floor band course, modillion brick eaves, and a rubble stone plinth. The roof is tiled. A brick chimney, featuring a moulded base and arched stone panel, sits between the left bays, with later brick chimneys to the gables. The house is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The windows are 3-light wooden casements with single horizontal glazing bars; ground-floor windows have segmental heads. A lobby entry between the left bays has a panelled door, with a top light, set within a wooden architrave frame and panelled reveals. A flat wooden cornice hood forms part of a trellis porch. The right gable shows band courses to each floor and 2-light casements, one serving the attic. There is a lean-to addition to the rear.
