Description

Pear Tree Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, and altered since. It is constructed of whitewashed brick with some timber framing, and has tiled roofs with rebuilt brick chimneys in the centre of each wing. The building is arranged in an L-shape and has one storey and an attic. The south side of the house has three bays. The left bay has a lean-to addition. The centre bay has 20th-century wooden casement windows, a three-light window on the ground floor, and a two-light window in a gabled dormer in the eaves. A four-panelled door with a lean-to hood supported by brackets is located to the left. The right bay is gabled and has some weatherboarding and barred wooden casement windows. A Sun Fire Insurance plaque is visible.
