SP 63 NE WATER STRATFORD STOWE PARK 3/154 Water Straford Lodge , gate piers and railings to Stowe Park

Lodge to Stowe Park, possibly by John Boorer 1843. Brick rendered with neoclassical details, some in stone: moulded dado string, upper entablature, parapet with balustraded sections, chamfered quoins and architrave sash windows with cills on scroll brackets. One storey. W. front has 3 bays. Central porch with pediment and entablature over moulded arch with scrolled keystone flanked by Ionic pilasters. Steps to porch flanked by low piers with ball finials and cast-iron railings to arcaded parapet se diagonally at left-hand corner. Railings and parapet matched round enclosure on opposite side of road. Segmental-plan railings at entrance to Stowe Park have panelled gate piers with stone corniced caps and urns, and plain outer pier with ball finials, one missing.
