Description

Little Thatch Rose Cottage and the Post Office is a range of three cottages, formerly four, located on the east side of Main Street in Water Stratford. They date from the late 18th century to early 19th century and are constructed of brick, with the end cottages being colour-washed. The cottages feature thatch roofs and are two storeys high.

The windows are irregular casements. Rose Cottage, positioned at a slight angle to the others, has doors beneath flat glass hoods supported by metal brackets in the outer bays, paired leaded casements in the centre and right of the ground floor, and a first floor that includes a central two-light casement and a three-light casement with a central leaded pane to the right. Little Thatch has a central boarded door under an arched metal hood with scalloped edging, modern metal casements on the ground floor, and an old four-light casement on the first floor with three leaded panes. The Post Office features a central glazed and barred door, with two-light leaded casements flanking it on both floors.
