Description

Walnut Cottage is a house dating to circa 1800. It is constructed of red and vitreous brick with an off-set eaves line and a flint plinth. The roof is tiled, with brick chimneys to the left and rear right. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The outer bays contain horizontal sliding sash windows, each half having four panes arranged four by four. The ground floor windows in the outer bays have segmental heads. The centre bay features a slight projection containing a smaller, similar sash window and a six-panelled door with a flat hood supported by shaped wooden brackets. Projecting to the left is a former outbuilding, constructed of colourwashed brick with some weatherboarding at the front, and featuring a half-hipped tiled roof. This outbuilding has a large, barred wooden window and a flush-panelled door to the left, both sheltered by a long wooden hood. Extensions are present to the rear of the property.
